Engineering Team Lead - SW Testing (Automation + Manual)

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of SDETs and software testers, managing workload distribution and professional development.
• Define and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and quality standards for embedded systems.
• Oversee both manual testing (functional, regression, UI/UX) and automation development efforts.
• Guide the building and maintenance of automated test frameworks and ensure the accuracy of test documentation.
• Track quality metrics such as defect density and test coverage to communicate results to stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, product owners, and DevOps to improve testability and support shift-left testing.
• Drive continuous process improvements to increase testing efficiency and release quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in embedded systems testing or software quality engineering.
• 2+ years of experience leading software or SDET teams.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation scripting.
• Strong experience with Qt/QML application testing on embedded HMI devices.
• Proven experience using Squish for Qt (scripting, object recognition, and framework design).
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery models.
• Background in establishing or scaling test automation practices and driving CI pipeline stability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Yocto-based Linux distributions.
• Strong understanding of hardware-software interactions (drivers, peripherals, device trees).
• Experience with embedded test equipment such as CAN analyzers and logic analyzers.
• Familiarity with industry standards including ISO 11783, ISO 25119, or ISO 26262.
