Engineering Team Lead

Responsibilities

• Act as a "player-coach" for a squad of 6–9 engineers, balancing people leadership with technical execution.
• Optimize the team’s "Idea to Production" cycle time and improve delivery predictability.
• Manage talent density through 1:1s, performance calibration, hiring, and succession planning.
• Dedicate approximately 50% of your time to system design and 20% to hands-on development and code reviews.
• Mediate interpersonal or cross-team conflicts to maintain team cohesion.
• Use technical depth to identify unrealistic estimates, fragile designs, or potential risks.
• Lead the adoption of AI-native engineering practices, including agentic tooling and LLM workflows.
• Coordinate technical responses during critical production incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven track record of shipping production code recently.
• Strong expertise in system design and technical architecture.
• Experience in people management and leading engineering teams.
• High emotional intelligence and the ability to remain resilient under pressure.
• Ability to remain an active technical contributor who can debug production issues in an IDE.
