About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all plant operations-related functions and engineering systems for the Bank's Headquarters Campus in Washington, DC.
  • Direct the activities of Engineer Mechanics, Operating Engineers, and contracted maintenance support.
  • Ensure continuous, uninterrupted operation of engineering systems and provide proper environmental conditions for all spaces.
  • Oversee the implementation of the annual preventive maintenance program and maintain the accuracy of the maintenance database.
  • Review construction plans for quality control regarding HVAC systems and provide input on final construction documents.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Building Managers to ensure the integrity of MEP systems during projects.
  • Assist in developing annual budget requirements and monitor expenditures for utility usage and contracted services.
  • Monitor the condition and efficiency of engineering systems and provide input for the Capital Improvement Program.
  • Direct and monitor the performance of staff members, providing coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 15 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of physical plants for large office buildings or complex facilities.
  • Must possess a 3rd Class DC Steam Engineer's license or equivalent.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of mechanical equipment and control systems.
  • Proven ability to supervise, coach, and train staff in plant operations.
  • Full knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS), specifically Siemens Apogee and Desigo.
  • Working knowledge and experience with facilities management systems such as Tririga.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
