Engineering Shift Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide leadership to a team of Automation Engineers, Reliability Engineers and Junior Engineers
• Coach, guide, and mentor staff at all levels of the shift
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures and schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability
• Identify opportunities for process automation and improvement to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for spare parts, equipment upgrades, and technical support
• Lead root cause analysis processes and continuous improvement projects
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze data, and identify opportunities for process optimization

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role in an automated manufacturing or distribution center environment
• Strong knowledge of automation systems, material handling equipment, and warehouse management systems
• Strong and evident leadership and people management experience
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with cross-functional stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Good understanding of data reporting to the business
• Independent right to work in the UK
