Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical liaison for clients in the industrial and automation sectors
- Conduct initial intake calls and site visits to understand project objectives and technical requirements
- Translate customer requirements into technical scopes, assumptions, and functional outlines
- Lead the development of ROM and detailed cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments
- Develop preliminary automation system concepts, architectures, layouts, and technical approaches
- Use CAD or visualization tools to create proposal-ready concept models or layout sketches
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and leadership to align customer expectations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in industrial equipment, automation integration, or engineering consulting
- 5+ years of experience developing and presenting project estimates to customers
- Proven experience preparing technical quotations and proposals
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and system requirements
- Willingness to travel to customer sites (up to 40% regional, 10-15% non-regional)
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum due to export control laws
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SolidWorks, Blender, or simulation software
- Familiarity with PLCs, robotics, motion control, or industrial controls
- Background in a systems integrator, OEM, or automation services provider
- CRM experience and proficiency with standard sales tools
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
