About the role
Responsibilities
- Support K-12 outreach efforts in collaboration with the Director of Engineering Outreach
- Manage student outreach teams and schedule visits with community partners in the Greater Pittsburgh area
- Assist in the development and implementation of engineering curriculum, including module testing and material acquisition
- Build and maintain trust-based relationships with historically marginalized communities
- Establish connections with engineering students interested in participating in outreach programming
- Provide guidance, skill development, and programming support to K-12 students
Requirements
- Proven experience working with K-12 populations
- Experience in a STEM-related field
- Knowledge and experience developing or implementing outreach programming
- Proficiency with G Suite applications
- Strong time management, organization, and project prioritization skills
- Ability to obtain Act 33, Act 34, and Act 151 clearances
- Ability to travel to off-site locations within Pittsburgh and work some evening/weekend hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on college campuses in academic or K-12 student services environments
- Collaborative professional with experience in diverse community engagement
