Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and grow a team of backend engineers working across Python (Frappe/ERPNext) and PHP.
• Own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Syarah’s ERP and CRM platforms.
• Set clear team and individual goals through OKRs, aligning engineering execution with company objectives.
• Run end-to-end performance management, including 1:1s, feedback, and career growth plans.
• Define and enforce engineering standards for code quality, architecture, testing, and security.
• Partner with finance, operations, and sales stakeholders to translate business requirements into engineering work.
• Drive healthy delivery practices including sprint planning, code reviews, CI/CD, and release management.
• Manage technical debt, scalability, and platform reliability for business-critical systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in an engineering management role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and PHP development.
• Experience with ERPNext/Frappe or other major ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Odoo, Oracle).
• Solid understanding of CRM systems, business process automation, and enterprise integrations.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams, setting OKRs, and managing performance.
• Experience with APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with sales lead generation and workflow automation within CRM platforms.
• Exposure to AI and agentic AI, with an interest in applying it to internal operations.
• Experience working in e-commerce, fintech, or high-growth technology environments.
