About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of software engineers working on complex autonomy projects.
- Lead the full integration lifecycle, combining software and hardware components into unified, system-level products.
- Oversee the development and deployment of autonomy solutions onto hardware platforms, including sensors and vehicle autopilots.
- Direct system-level testing and validation efforts using Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation.
- Facilitate real-world field testing and deployment on USV and UAV platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Perception, Fusion, and Autonomy to ensure seamless integration and milestone success.
- Drive best practices for configuration management and test artifacts.
Requirements
- MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of industry experience in software, robotics, or systems engineering.
- 2+ years of experience leading technical teams.
- Proven experience deploying software to hardware with rigorous verification and validation (V&V).
- Familiarity with robotics middleware such as ROS, DDS, Iceoryx2, or protobuf.
- Strong proficiency in Linux and hands-on experience with robotic hardware.
- Experience with SIL and HIL simulation environments.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to hold or obtain a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Robotics or a related engineering field.
- Hands-on experience deploying autonomy on maritime (USV) or aerospace (UAV) platforms.
- Proficiency in production-level C++ and/or Python.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve unexpected technical problems in the field.
