Engineering Manager, Risk & Identity Platform

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of high-performing backend engineers
• Drive technical strategy for core Accounts, Authentication, and Authorization systems
• Innovate on the authentication stack using standards like passkeys
• Architect next-generation identity and authorization platforms using ReBAC
• Own the technical vision for the end-to-end user lifecycle
• Provide architectural guidance on complex distributed systems
• Partner with recruiting to build a diverse and inclusive team

Requirements

• BS, M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience in people management leading backend teams
• 8+ years of industry experience
• Extensive experience in fast-paced, platform-focused development environments
• Experience with large-scale distributed system design and reliability
• Strong product sense and cross-functional partnership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML)
• Familiarity with emerging standards like Passkeys and WebAuthn
• Experience building authorization systems (ReBAC, ABAC, or Zanzibar)
