Responsibilities

• Grow and develop the engineering team by owning end-to-end hiring and talent development
• Own delivery by creating clarity on priorities and building appropriate processes for scale
• Mentor engineers on architecture, craft, and production readiness
• Participate in company leadership, shaping strategy and organizational evolution
• Balance short-term output with long-term technical health

Requirements

• Experience managing and scaling engineering teams at a startup
• Proven track record of hiring and closing high-caliber engineers
• Deep technical depth capable of mentoring on complex architecture
• Ability to operate effectively in high-ambiguity environments
• Strong opinions on engineering culture and effectiveness
• Willingness to work in-person in San Francisco

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech or building systems of record
• Experience in domains where data correctness is non-negotiable
