Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the engineering process to support safe and profitable project execution
• Build and lead a high-performing team of engineering experts
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of engineering talent through recruiting and mentorship
• Establish and execute departmental KPIs, OKRs, and strategic initiatives
• Oversee selection and implementation of engineering software including AutoCAD, Inventor, and RISA-3D
• Manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and resources
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as OSHA, AISC, ANSI/ASME, and DOT
• Collaborate with operations, sales, and project management teams to ensure operational success

Requirements

• 5+ years of heavy lift or rigging experience
• ABET accredited engineering degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency with lift planning and design software (AutoCAD, 3dliftplan, Mathcad)
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver's license
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering (PE) License
• Experience in structural steel calculations and complex stress analysis
• Experience in the heavy rigging or transport industry
• Knowledge of AISC Steel Construction Manual and ASME BTH-1 standards
• Understanding of ASME B30 codes
• Working knowledge of solid modeling FEA techniques and RISA-3D
