Engineering Manager (Platform)

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 4–6 engineers across Infrastructure, Payments & Finance, and DevEx/QA
• Run the hiring loop, including sourcing, evaluating, and closing high-quality engineers
• Set the technical bar through code reviews, architecture decisions, and hands-on bug triaging
• Own the technical direction for database scaling, payments reliability, and developer tooling
• Partner with Product to translate business priorities into scoped engineering roadmaps
• Drive launch readiness through load testing and capacity planning

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
• 4+ years of experience managing engineering teams
• Non-negotiable fluency with AI tools
• Proven track record of hiring and developing high-performing engineers
• Strong communication skills for partnering with product and leadership
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with payments infrastructure (Stripe or similar)
• Experience with platform reliability work or developer tooling
• Deep expertise in one specific area of Platform (Infrastructure, Payments, or DevEx)
