Engineering Manager, Piping & Stress Analysis

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a piping team of internal, staff-aug, and third-party engineering firm designers
• Oversee execution of piping engineering deliverables across multiple projects
• Establish and maintain piping design standards, specifications, and best practices
• Perform pipe stress analysis using Caesar II, including flexibility analysis and thermal expansion
• Conduct dynamic analyses such as slug flow, water hammer, and vibration assessments
• Define allowable loads and ensure compliance with ASME B31.3
• Design and specify pipe supports, guides, anchors, and expansion joints
• Review and approve 3D models (Plant3D, CADWORX, Revit) for constructability
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, and structural teams to optimize system design

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in piping engineering with leadership responsibilities
• Deep understanding of stress analysis and design principles
• Extensive experience with ASME B31.3 piping code
• Expertise in Caesar II (Nozzle Pro preferred)
• Experience managing piping teams within an EPC or EPCM environment
• Familiarity with 3D design platforms like Plant3D, CADWORX, Revit, or Navisworks

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, mining, mineral processing, or chemical processing
