Engineering Manager - Observability & Reliability Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of Site Reliability Engineers
• Define and evolve the observability strategy focusing on logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting
• Own the strategy for critical services including HashiCorp Vault and Terraform Enterprise
• Drive prioritization and roadmap planning for reliability initiatives
• Manage the team's on-call experience and incident response processes
• Partner with Product Managers and architects to align observability with platform needs

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering or SRE experience
• 3+ years of engineering management experience leading technical teams
• Strong technical background in cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, or Kubernetes)
• Deep understanding of observability tooling (Fluent Bit, OpenTelemetry, Loki, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Thanos, or Datadog)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, OpenTofu) and secrets management (Vault)
• Ability to mentor engineers and guide architectural decisions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling SRE or platform teams in high-traffic environments
• Background in designing high-scale telemetry pipelines
• Hands-on experience with Go, Python, or Ruby
• Experience driving cultural and technical transformations
