Engineering Manager, NPD-Coffee & Beverage

Responsibilities

• Lead a US-based team of two engineers, setting technical direction and providing coaching
• Take ownership of KPI-critical subsystem designs from conception through verification
• Drive subsystem performance using quantitative test and DOE methods
• Evaluate designs for cost efficiency, manufacturing, and quality improvements
• Build and test prototypes to de-risk concepts and validate assumptions
• Represent the global team's work in program reviews
• Collaborate with UK-based engineering and US-based Product Management and Industrial Design teams
• Coordinate with China-based manufacturing partners for design-for-manufacture
• Serve as the technical voice for the US Coffee & Beverage team in executive reviews
• Synthesize technical status and risks into communications for executive audiences
• Lead post-mortem activities and drive process improvements across the category

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design
• 5+ years of experience in Mechanical or Product Design
• 2+ years of people management experience
• Experience presenting to senior or executive leadership
• Ability to translate consumer KPIs into measurable design parameters and test protocols
• Experience in plastic manufacturing and high-volume consumer goods
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo
• Experience working in distributed, multi-site engineering environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in consumer household appliances (coffee, espresso, or hot-beverage)
• Familiarity with pumps, thermoblocks, boilers, solenoid valves, and grinders
• Appreciation for electrical engineering, software, and UX design
