Engineering Manager (MLOps)

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of MLOps Engineers in researching, designing, and prototyping MLOps practices, tools, and frameworks
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and AI/ML Engineering teams to enhance workflows and reduce deployment time
• Improve automation in the development and deployment processes of machine learning
• Partner with IT operations and DevOps teams to ensure smooth integration of infrastructure platforms
• Establish and maintain systems for monitoring machine learning models in production and ensure proper model governance
• Manage cloud infrastructure costs through monitoring and optimization
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Ensure the dependability of MLOps platforms, including participating in on-call rotations

Requirements

• Strong experience managing teams of Software Developers
• Strong software engineering fundamentals (code patterns, code review, TDD, unit testing)
• Experience deploying and managing data pipelines and machine learning algorithms at scale
• Practical experience with Kubernetes (preferably EKS) in a production environment
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and SQL
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MLOps tools such as DVC, MLFlow, Metaflow, Ray, or Chalk
