Engineering Manager – Mechanical & Structures

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and people leadership to a team focused on mechanical systems and structures design, development, and reliability
• Manage end-to-end product design engineering for payloads, structures, and propulsion aircraft components
• Develop and implement project or operational plans aligned with department objectives and customer requirements
• Forecast resource needs, make hiring decisions, and provide coaching, mentoring, and developmental feedback to employees
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders and global teams to develop strategies and maintain organizational alignment
• Support critical engineering milestones including Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR)
• Foster an innovative work environment to improve product quality, process, and productivity

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
• At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, manager, or large-scale project management)
• Deep understanding of aerostructures, including wings, empennage, and fuselage
• Familiarity with safety and airworthiness standards per regulatory requirements such as the FAA
• Hands-on experience with industry-leading CAD, PLM, Stress Analysis, or Thermal Analysis tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English
• Ability to work effectively within complex organizational structures and under time-constrained environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil Engineering
• Proven track record of mentoring junior engineers and guiding partners to achieve departmental goals
• Extensive experience across the full product development lifecycle, including Design, Build, and Fleet Support
