Responsibilities

• Hold engineers accountable to metrics and own team goals to ensure committed shipping
• Maintain release health through tracking, root-cause analysis, and weekly quality syncs
• Drive well-architected, consistent code patterns across the team
• Own the technical roadmap with the CTO, including the ongoing Rust migration
• Manage enterprise escalations end-to-end with clear plans and fast resolution
• Analyze capacity needs, define roles, and lead hiring efforts
• Protect and support the open-source community as the team scales

Requirements

• Proven track record as an Engineering Manager shipping through a team
• Metrics-driven approach to reliability and productivity (MTTR, regression rates, etc.)
• Experience with incident management and conducting postmortems
• Ability to design processes like review cadences and release workflows from scratch
• Experience managing enterprise escalations and maintaining customer trust
• CS/engineering degree or equivalent hands-on engineering background
• Startup experience, including managing messy codebases and rewrites

• Experience at an open-source company
• Experience scaling engineering teams at fast-growing startups
