Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage and inspire a team of 6-10 backend engineers
• Drive technical architecture and design of backend systems for scalability and reliability
• Set processes and standards across the SDLC lifecycle
• Oversee code reviews, architecture discussions, and coding standards
• Set clear goals and track progress towards project milestones
• Prioritize operational excellence, incident management, and risk identification
• Lead efforts to optimize applications for speed, responsiveness, and resource efficiency
• Address complex technical challenges and provide guidance on scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, product, and operations teams
• Mentor engineers and emphasize engineering excellence

Requirements

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience
• Strong understanding of OOP concepts, distributed systems, SQL, and NoSQL databases
• Experience with message brokers and caching systems
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience in architectural decisions and design
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Strong problem-solving skills and a data-oriented mindset
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
