Engineering Manager, Identity & Access Platform

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing Identity Infrastructure team, setting technical direction while empowering engineers to own delivery
• Define the strategy for the identity platform as the policy plane for access across people, agents, workloads, and services
• Scale Access Manager for evolving human and agent lifecycles, ensuring sensitive access is contextual and time-bound
• Build an access graph and resource catalog to make access decisions explainable and risk-aware
• Replace broad standing privilege with risk-tiered, narrow, and observable access
• Establish first-class authorization for agents and workloads with delegated, action-scoped permissions
• Partner across Security, Infrastructure, Research, and IT to turn identity standards into trusted systems
• Operate identity infrastructure as a mission-critical platform with high reliability, observability, and rigorous incident learning

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and developing engineering teams that own large-scale platforms
• Experience owning security-critical production systems where reliability, least privilege, and auditability are essential
• Deep technical judgment across cloud infrastructure, IAM, authentication, authorization, and workload identity
• Hands-on technical depth to review code, pressure-test architectures, and guide tradeoffs in scale and performance
• Proven track record of turning complex infrastructure problems into widely adopted platforms
• High bar for engineering quality and operational discipline
