Responsibilities

• Drive execution by setting ambitious targets and holding teams accountable for delivery
• Line-manage 8-12 engineers, providing direct feedback and supporting professional development
• Improve team effectiveness by refining processes and adopting better tools, including AI
• Partner with Product Managers to refine ideas, provide estimates, and balance product delivery with technical debt management
• Own the technical roadmap and ensure architectural integrity and scalability
• Use AI tools to rapidly prototype ideas and validate technical approaches
• Hire new talent and contribute to the broader engineering culture

Requirements

• Proven experience line-managing engineers, including performance management and navigating change
• Strong technical background with previous experience as a Senior Engineer
• Ability to evaluate system designs, technical proposals, and production issues
• Bias for action and a preference for iterative shipping over perfect planning
• AI-native mindset with experience using AI to accelerate delivery
• Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
• Experience with Java and React/TypeScript is a plus
