Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of seven engineers in a player-coach capacity, maintaining hands-on coding proficiency.
• Own the end-to-end reliability of Groupon IQ, an AI-native internal platform.
• Define and maintain the code-review standards for agent-written code to ensure safety and quality.
• Drive the consolidation of company admin tools into the Groupon IQ platform.
• Mentor engineers toward end-to-end ownership and participate in cross-team architecture decisions.
• Manage backend reliability, including tracing workflow failures and conducting post-mortems.

Requirements

• Proven experience owning platform reliability where reliability is a core product feature.
• Hands-on coding proficiency and experience with distributed systems.
• Experience reviewing agent-written code and setting merge standards.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment (three days a week on-site in Prague).
• Strong technical depth in tracing complex system failures and implementing automated fixes.
