Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead a small engineering team (approx. 3 engineers) to migrate legacy messaging integrations to a modern, AI-native TypeScript foundation.
• Replace ~120 hand-built integrations with event-driven flows within a customer-data platform (Bloomreach).
• Maintain a hands-on approach by staying involved in system design and writing production code.
• Manage end-to-end delivery for the Managed Channel, coordinating with stakeholders in Prague and London.
• Implement AI-first engineering practices, including the use of AI agents for toil and incident response.
• Ensure high reliability in messaging flows to prevent issues like double-sending by construction.

Requirements

• Proven experience migrating live traffic from legacy systems to modern architectures without service disruption.
• Strong hands-on coding skills and the ability to demonstrate recent production code.
• Experience leading and growing distributed teams across different time zones.
• Deep understanding of event-driven architecture and designing for reliability.
• Experience working with TypeScript and modern cloud-native foundations.
• Ability to take ownership of complex, under-invested systems and make them observable and stable.
