About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering activities to ensure optimum productivity and quality while complying with customer specifications
  • Manage the overall development and administration of the Engineering Process
  • Coach and develop engineering team members to foster professional growth
  • Establish and review process controls, emphasizing continuous improvement and waste reduction
  • Achieve product target costs and improve efficiency by identifying production problems
  • Serve as a member of the plant leadership team, contributing to process flows, labor, and machine standards
  • Review all proposed changes to processes, equipment, molds, and tooling for reliability and compatibility
  • Support product launch strategies and maintain third-party registration to ISO/IATF standards
  • Develop workflows, effective layouts, and optimized processes
  • Authorize engineering change notices, process alerts, and department expenses

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong understanding of APQP processes (FMEA, Control Plan, etc.)
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and leading continuous improvement/Kaizen projects
  • Proven ability to perform problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills with the ability to delegate and hold others accountable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
