Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Act as a direct line manager for Development Leads and Senior Analyst Developers, taking responsibility for overall performance.
• Promote a culture of excellence by monitoring key metrics and KPIs to improve team performance.
• Assist the Head of Development in setting and maintaining a technical roadmap for the solution centre.
• Serve as a key contact and point of escalation for technical issues and influence technical direction.
• Support recruitment efforts through assessment centres, interviews, and market engagement events.
• Identify opportunities for developer training and implement programs to improve team skills.
• Drive improvements to the development process, including build, CI, release, and deployment processes.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to Development Leads and ensure high standards of coding practices.
• Manage project resourcing and ensure seamless onboarding for new team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• Proven experience in large-scale technology delivery and managing technology change.
• Expertise in Microsoft .NET development products, including .NET, C#, and SQL Server.
• Expertise in web development, specifically ASP.NET, JavaScript, and ReactJS.
• Extensive experience in line management within large-scale technology organizations.
• Strong understanding of financial products and markets.
• Experience working with various levels of stakeholders in a project environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with legacy development products such as ASP.NET MVC, VB.NET, or legacy .NET Framework versions.
• Familiarity with code analysis or automated testing tools.
• Understanding of web services.
