Engineering Manager, Data

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and grow impactful business-focused data engineering teams
• Drive technical and strategic vision for embedded pods and foundational enablers
• Improve data architecture and development processes for scale and interoperability
• Collaborate with stakeholders, external partners, and peer data leaders
• Plan and execute short-term and long-term team and stakeholder success strategies
• Ensure high standards for data reliability and quality

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform, or related domains
• 2+ years of hands-on management experience
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, and SQL
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Trino, or Pinot
• Experience with AWS ecosystem and ETL orchestration (Airflow, Kafka, Spark Streaming)
• Familiarity with data lake formats like Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, or Glue Catalog
• Strong skills in performance management, coaching, and mentoring

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building systems that power online applications
• Exposure to databases such as CockroachDB, Cassandra, or PostgreSQL
• Proficiency in system design and application of AI solutions in the data space
