Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers to generate design renderings and 2D/3D shop drawings
• Perform structural analysis and load calculations for custom event structures and rigging
• Implement Design for Fabrication (DFM) principles to optimize material usage and cost
• Oversee the translation of artistic briefs into accurate technical documents
• Collaborate with the Workshop Fabrication Manager to ensure production efficiency
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and CNC machine programs via CAM software
• Liaise with project managers and clients to identify technical specifications and risks
• Manage the Engineering Change Notices (ECN) process
• Ensure all products meet safety codes and quality standards
• Mentor and supervise a team of designers and engineers
• Assist with technical cost estimations and materials budgeting

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as an engineering manager in custom event fabrication or scenic workshops
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, and SAP
• Strong understanding of materials engineering (metals, plastics, wood)
• Knowledge of fabrication processes including MIG/TIG welding, carpentry, and CNC
• Ability to resolve complex technical challenges under tight deadlines
