Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software and DevOps engineers building real-time communication platforms.
• Own the technical direction, scalability, and reliability of customer-facing services including VoIP, conferencing, and RESTful APIs.
• Drive end-to-end delivery using Agile frameworks, ensuring high-quality releases and operational excellence.
• Guide system design and architecture for distributed, microservices-based platforms.
• Oversee production health, observability, and the timely resolution of technical issues.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, ownership, and DevSecOps best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and geographically distributed teams to align on long-term technical goals.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in engineering or technical leadership.
• Strong expertise in system design, distributed systems, and microservices architectures.
• Proven experience building and operating scalable, resilient backend systems and APIs.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Concourse).
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Go, or Python.
• Solid understanding of cloud/infrastructure platforms and DevSecOps practices.
• Excellent communication skills and experience managing stakeholder expectations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with real-time communication platforms and VoIP technologies.
• Understanding of SIP protocols and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP).
• Experience working with OpenStack or similar cloud environments.
