The company is profitable, growing exponentially, and serves over 10,000 active paid users, primarily lawyers.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for technical decisions made by the team through direct decision-making or review/approval.
• Drive the team and projects to maximize outcomes in a dynamic, agile environment.
• Grow team members through challenging assignments and ongoing coaching.
• Create and maintain a psychologically safe environment across the company.
• Act as a technical leader by designing architecture, writing, and debugging code.

Requirements

• Experience managing an engineering team of more than five members
• Proficiency in C#, C++, Java, or Rust
• Business level English
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey ideas clearly
• At least three of the following: optimizing engineering processes, performance assessment/reward determination, coaching/mentoring, setting priorities based on customer feedback, or technical public speaking/blogging

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Ability to balance customer and engineer perspectives
• Fluency in Japanese
