Engineering Manager, Arc Vehicle Software

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations, scheduling, and tasking for the Arc Software team
• Manage a team of flight software, ground software, and software test engineers
• Own the delivery, integration, and deployment of all flight and ground control software
• Coordinate with the centralized Software team to leverage platform-level libraries and standards
• Collaborate with Reentry and Accurate Landing teams to integrate GNC algorithms
• Oversee architecture for vehicle-level state machines, flight autonomy, and fault protection
• Manage software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing campaigns
• Drive real-time troubleshooting and debugging during vehicle assembly and flight operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
• 8+ years of experience in complex software development
• Expertise in embedded C++ and high-reliability systems
• Experience leading engineering teams or managing software release cycles
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, embedded Linux, and multi-threaded systems
• Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust in a Linux environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with spacecraft, launch vehicles, or high-reliability autonomous systems
• Familiarity with HIL test setups, network protocols (CAN, Ethernet, Serial), and telemetry
• Experience building scalable DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Prior experience in startups or small independent teams
