Engineering Manager (API Platform)

Responsibilities

• Provide both technical and team leadership across multiple layers of our rapidly growing API business
• Design, build, and operate mission-critical APIs that provide our customers the building blocks for frontier intelligence
• Continually reimagine customer needs and the architectures required to serve them
• Drive product reliability, code quality, AI evaluation, testing, and maintenance
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and mentorship for a rapidly growing team
• Collaborate across teams to incorporate novel frontier capabilities into the API Platform
• Track and ensure progress toward top-line business goals in coordination with executives

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience
• At least 3 years of experience as an engineering manager
• Proficiency in Python
• Strong understanding of high-traffic API design including schema evolution, versioning, idempotency, and rate limiting
• Experience managing engineering teams, including recruiting and retaining high-caliber talent
• Strong organizational skills for managing parallel technical projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Go or Rust
• Experience with modern AI APIs, latency tuning, streaming, and model orchestration
• Strong customer empathy and product sense
