Responsibilities

• Build the London team by hiring and onboarding exceptional engineers
• Foster open-source communities for Hegel and Bombadil products
• Write code, review code, and debug complex issues to set the technical bar
• Drive delivery on complex, cross-functional projects from design to production
• Establish best practices balancing speed and correctness
• Partner with the Virginia-based core team to ensure shared standards and context
• Mentor and develop engineers technically and professionally

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in C++, Python, Java, Go, or similar
• Familiarity with property-based testing, fuzzing, or formal verification
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams in a startup or high-growth environment
• Experience building or expanding remote engineering offices or distributed teams
• Strong technical judgment and architectural decision-making skills
• Excellent communication skills to align engineers, PMs, and executives
• Ability to operate effectively within ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with test infrastructure or developer tooling
• Experience shipping open-source software
