Engineering Manager, AI & ML

Responsibilities

• Drive the execution of AI & ML initiatives related to PitchBook Platform insights
• Provide hands-on technical leadership in the engineering of AI/ML models and services, focusing on NLP, summarization, and semantic search
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and data scientists
• Contribute to the development of NLP techniques including classifiers, transformers, and LLMs
• Work closely with AI/ML teams, data collection engineering, and product management
• Ensure data collection systems meet high standards of integrity, security, and compliance
• Apply Agile, Lean, and Fast-Flow principles to improve team efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field
• Minimum 6 years of experience in AI/ML engineering initiatives in NLP and GenAI
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Python and SQL
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in insights generation, summarization, and semantic search
• Proven track record of shipping production-grade GenAI and LLM systems at scale
• Experience with Apache Kafka, Airflow, and Snowflake
• Understanding of cloud-native technologies and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Experience in fintech or data-intensive industries
