About the role
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair test cell facility equipment, including DC battery cyclers, thermal chambers, chillers, load banks, and high-voltage monitoring systems
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
- Fabricate and wire specialty equipment using existing or purchased parts and drawings
- Develop and write standard work for maintenance tasks and repair procedures, including Pre-Task Plans
- Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams to implement technical solutions and support new equipment launches
- Adhere to all corporate safety standards, including lockout/tagout and chemical management protocols
- Support root cause analysis and the development of new test configurations for battery technologies
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in an electrical-related field (e.g., machine controls, high voltage, or commercial electrical) or HVAC/R certifications
- 3-5+ years of hands-on electrical and/or mechanical experience
- Proficiency working with 480VAC and 1600VDC systems and understanding risk reduction techniques
- Ability to interpret complex electrical and mechanical drawings
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining refrigeration, environmental chambers, or HVAC-based thermal control systems
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience launching new equipment and processes
- Familiarity with GM purchasing processes and the Maximo System
- Experience with high voltage electrical systems and GM Workplace Safety Systems
- EPA 608 Certification for thermal chamber servicing
