Engineering Lead

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end technical delivery through the build phase, ensuring work is sequenced and aligned to milestones
• Coordinate Business Product Owners, Technical Product Owners, Chief Architect, and engineering teams
• Oversee the development and readiness of technical specification documents and build artefacts
• Manage delivery risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions across workstreams
• Act as the integration point between technical design intent and build execution
• Translate business and product intent into coordinated technical execution plans
• Direct and coordinate build activities across development and supporting teams
• Facilitate alignment between architecture decisions, backlog priorities, and engineering execution
• Track progress against milestones and intervene to resolve blockers or design gaps

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Proven track record leading large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams in complex enterprise programmes
• Experience delivering mission-critical platforms in regulated environments (e.g., banking, financial services)
• Strong background in cloud-native, distributed systems, API-first, and microservices architectures
• Experience with Agile, SAFe, or hybrid delivery models
• Strong exposure to DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and production release governance
• Experience operating in multi-vendor or partner environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering, architecture, or cloud technologies
• Agile delivery certification (e.g., Scrum)
• Strong grounding in secure software development practices and non-functional requirements
