Engineering Lead, Growth

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Design to define roadmaps, scope, and success metrics for user acquisition and market expansion.
• Own the technical strategy and architecture for services and APIs, focusing on scalability, reliability, and security.
• Drive strong delivery practices including planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as the accountable owner for architecture and system quality across services.
• Guide the evolution of application and platform infrastructure to improve developer productivity and reduce operational overhead.
• Establish operational excellence through monitoring, incident response, and reliability improvements.
• Review code and institute engineering standards to raise the bar for quality.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with a deep foundation in distributed systems and high-availability architectures.
• Proficiency in modern JVM ecosystems (Java 17+, Kotlin, Spring / Spring Boot).
• Expert knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven/streaming systems (e.g., Kafka).
• Hands-on experience with cloud services (GCP/AWS), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong grasp of observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Proven track record of developing large-scale, API-heavy, and integration-heavy systems in production.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building scalable growth features such as referral systems or dynamic funnels.
• Background in A/B testing frameworks and using data analytics to optimize conversion.
• Familiarity with building products using AI and LLMs for personalization or self-serve tools.
• Polyglot experience with modern languages like Scala, JavaScript, Python, or Golang.
