Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement and capital projects through data collection, analysis, and documentation
• Assist with root cause analysis for process, equipment, or quality issues using tools like 5-Why or Fishbone
• Spend significant time on the production floor observing processes and identifying inefficiencies
• Support Management of Change (MOC) activities, including documentation and risk assessments
• Collect and analyze production data to support downtime, yield, and loss analysis
• Participate in vendor walkthroughs and assist with equipment evaluation and project scoping
• Follow all plant safety rules, food safety requirements, and GMP standards

Requirements

• Recent graduate in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Food Engineering (or a related discipline)
• Strong interest in manufacturing, process engineering, or continuous improvement
• Comfortable working in a hands-on, plant-based environment
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and observation skills
• Ability to document information clearly and follow structured processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship, co-op, or hands-on manufacturing experience
• Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement concepts
• Interest in powder processing, material handling, or food manufacturing
• Basic proficiency with Excel, data analysis, or dashboards
• Familiarity with technical drawings, layouts, or process flow diagrams
