Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

• Support aircraft structural design engineering activities including 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and Bill of Materials development
• Perform design engineering tasks such as detail part modeling, sizing, layout maturation, and weight reduction efforts
• Assist with static analysis and fatigue and damage tolerance analysis for metallic or composite components
• Document data in support of trade studies for airframe structures
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems and communicate status, ideas, and solutions to supervisors

Requirements

• Must be currently attending school in the Wichita, KS metro area
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
• Knowledge of stress analysis methods (classical and numerical/Finite Element)
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and G-Suite
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing a Minor in Computer Science
• Previous Airbus engineering experience
• Exposure to airframe design, MRB, CATIA, Isami, NASTRAN, or PATRAN
