Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites, test ranges, and demonstration events to provide hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of USVs and related subsystems
- Perform mechanical and electrical system maintenance, component replacement, and corrective actions
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, communications, and system-level issues in the field
- Install new subsystems, hardware modifications, and software updates on deployed vehicles
- Support sea trials, system tests, demonstrations, and operational evaluations
- Document test results, field findings, failures, and corrective actions
- Prepare equipment, spare parts, tools, and service kits for deployment
- Maintain accurate service records, inventory, maintenance logs, and field activity reports
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in field service, maintenance, or technical support involving complex electromechanical systems
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and communication systems
- Hands-on skills in mechanical assembly, wiring, and system integration
- Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and serial communications analyzers
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and PCB schematics
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Ability to travel 50–75% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with maritime, aerospace, defense, robotics, or autonomous systems
- Knowledge of propulsion systems, electric/internal combustion engines, and battery systems
- Prior experience supporting DoD customers or operating in military environments
- Familiarity with CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Confluence, and Jira
