Engineering Director

Responsibilities

• Guide the technical direction and roadmap for critical systems within the travel domain
• Hire, develop, and mentor a high-performing organization of engineers and engineering managers
• Work closely with vendors and suppliers to implement modern, API-driven technical approaches
• Drive the scalability, reliability, and extensibility of backend systems
• Guide the implementation of AI-driven workflows leveraging proprietary travel data
• Partner with Product, Design, and Operations to deliver cross-team initiatives
• Modernize technical assumptions into flexible models to ensure quality and trust

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience
• 5+ years of experience leading/managing cross-functional development teams
• 3+ years of experience managing managers
• Strong background in building and operating large-scale backend systems
• Deep expertise in complex distributed systems
• Proven track record of delivering complex outcomes in ambiguous environments
• Ability to communicate effectively across diverse cultures and time zones
