Engineering Director

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-discipline engineering delivery across mechanical, electrical/I&C, and civil/structural disciplines
• Own plant power integration and lead system design for modifications and tie-ins
• Manage EPCs and engineering contractors by defining scopes, interfaces, and deliverables
• Drive stage-gated engineering maturity from FEL-1 through FEL-3
• Develop technical specifications and review deliverables for steam turbines, condensers, and feedwater systems
• Support construction-ready work packaging and provide engineering support during commissioning and startup
• Hire, onboard, and mentor Alva’s internal engineering team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Industrial, Petroleum, Chemical, Civil, or Electrical engineering
• 8+ years of experience in power plant systems engineering or leading large power/process-industry projects
• Extensive knowledge of steam cycles, power conversion systems, and steam turbine plants
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and external EPC partners
• Background in a hard-tech startup taking complex systems from concept to deployment
• Engineering leadership experience in oil & gas, petrochemicals, refining, LNG, or conventional power generation
• Willingness to travel up to ~25% to sites and suppliers
