Engineering Associate

Responsibilities

• Determine project scope, investigation plans, and specifications including cost, time, and sample requirements.
• Communicate with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures, and negotiate project details.
• Establish appropriate test programs by reviewing manufacturer information and applying UL requirements.
• Examine samples for compliance and notify clients of any non-compliance or changes in project scope.
• Coordinate laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and scheduling work for technicians and support staff.
• Resolve engineering issues associated with Variation Notices through detailed analysis and reporting.
• Assist in the development of UL requirements, special test methods, and test equipment.
• Prepare Follow-Up Service Procedures and communicate project status and results to clients through detailed reports.

Requirements

• University education in a related engineering or technical discipline.
• Six years of directly related professional experience.
• Ability to travel to client sites to conduct or witness tests as required.
