About the role
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Supplier Quality Engineers, Process Engineers, and Maintenance to define corrective actions and support continuous improvement.
- Participate in simultaneous engineering activities for new projects, including APQP and QR83.
- Interpret bevel gear prints, including dimensions, tolerances, specifications, and standards.
- Investigate and resolve issues involving non-conforming bevel gear sets from vehicle testing, NVH, or customer returns.
- Lead 8D investigations or similar corrective action processes stemming from audits or customer complaints.
- Design, optimize, and develop blades using specialized software such as KIMOS, GEMs, and Meteor.
- Lead troubleshooting methods and planning when equipment presents quality or performance issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and/or 4+ years of professional engineering or analysis experience.
- 3 years of experience specifically within bevel gear manufacturing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D for creating technical drawings.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, SPC, and DoE.
- Knowledge of APQP, SPC, Mistake Proofing, and problem-solving techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with basic noise testing.
