About the role
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and maintain records of construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and standards.
- Work from city, state, and private engineering firm drawings to monitor project progress.
- Maintain close contact with contractors and city work crews to ensure quality work is performed.
- Resolve minor construction problems not covered by existing plans and specifications.
- Act as a liaison between City engineers, contractors, and architects.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field AND 4 years of experience in government or private construction, surveying, inspection, or drafting; OR
- High school diploma/GED AND 8 years of experience in government or private construction, surveying, inspection, or drafting.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proven experience in construction, surveying, inspection, or drafting.
