Engineer, R&D-Optics

Responsibilities

• Develop and design new optical products and manage product extensions
• Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and internal teams
• Coordinate product activities with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality through ECR procedures
• Support product testing and design verification to meet customer and UL requirements
• Review manufacturing and sales drawings for completeness and accuracy
• Load released BOMs and material master data into SAP/software
• Support quality, ISO, EH&S, and Six Sigma processes and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in physics or optics
• 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years with a Master’s degree
• Experience in optical communication or passive components
• Proficiency in optical simulation or optical assembly processes
• Knowledge of Zemax, MathCAD, or Matlab
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Optics or Physics
• Experience designing optical products such as WDM, switches, circulators, TF, DCM, or interleavers
• Familiarity with optical assembly and seal packaging processes
• Knowledge of optical material properties
