Engineer Project Associate

Responsibilities

• Determine project scope, investigation plans, and specifications including cost, time, and sample requirements.
• Communicate with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures, and negotiate project details.
• Establish test programs by reviewing manufacturer information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements.
• Coordinate laboratory activities by preparing data sheets, scheduling technician work, and reviewing results.
• Examine samples for compliance and notify clients of any non-compliance or changes in project scope.
• Resolve engineering issues associated with Variation Notices through detailed analysis and reporting.
• Prepare technical reports, Follow-Up Service Procedures, and information pages for clients.
• Assist in the development of UL requirements, special test methods, and test equipment.

Requirements

• University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited program.
• Two years of directly related professional experience.
• Detailed knowledge of technical vocabulary common to the appropriate engineering discipline.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory testing apparatus and techniques common to the appropriate discipline.
