Engineer Project Associate - Fire Suppression Products

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing, inspection, and certification activities for fire suppression products, including foam concentrates, extinguishing systems, pumps, and engines.
• Evaluate products for compliance with applicable national and international standards such as UL and EN.
• Determine project scope, develop investigation plans, and establish specifications for cost, time, and sample requirements.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, test documentation, and certification findings.
• Communicate with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures, and negotiate project requirements.
• Coordinate laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and scheduling work for technicians and engineering support staff.
• Resolve engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by analyzing and reporting on acceptability.
• Support customers in understanding compliance requirements and the certification process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Fire, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in fire suppression products, fire protection systems, or the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry.
• Knowledge of fire suppression systems such as foam concentrates, extinguishing systems, pumps, and engines.
• Familiarity with fire protection standards and codes including UL, FM, NFPA, EN, or ISO.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools for documentation and reporting.
• Willingness to travel for on-site testing and client activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
