Engineer, Modeling & Controls Engineering

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative control solutions for HVAC and refrigeration systems from conceptual design to lab validation
• Perform dynamic analysis of non-linear systems, including system identification, controllability, and stability optimization
• Support system-level requirement definition and low-level control requirements decomposition
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests for control systems to ensure performance
• Participate in hands-on testing in psychrometric laboratories to refine plant models and algorithms
• Apply MIL/SIL/HIL testing strategies to push development further upstream in the lifecycle
• Support the development and calibration of physics-based plant models

Requirements

• BS in Electrical, Control Systems, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering with 3+ years of experience, OR an MS or PhD in a related engineering field

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of feedback control, linear/nonlinear control, and multivariable control
• Experience with Matlab-based toolsets for designing and testing embedded controls algorithms
• Experience with MIL/SIL/HIL testing domains
• Expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and vapor-compression cycles
• Familiarity with PLC or AUTOSAR styled embedded architecture
• Knowledge of acausal modeling languages such as Modelica
