About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in a hybrid R&D and Operational Support role for raw materials used in steel food and aerosol packaging.
- Manage cost savings opportunities, including coating replacement and usage optimization.
- Lead key technical and strategic projects related to quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and strategic supply.
- Provide operational support for commercial materials, addressing customer complaints and internal quality assurance challenges.
- Assist with sales requests, plant substitutions, and engineering projects by utilizing container specification knowledge.
- Participate in engineering projects involving can coatings, compounds, sealants, and manufacturing components.
- Perform data collection and analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
- Create, communicate, and execute project plans and technical reports.
- Travel up to 50% as required for project execution and site support.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Working knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to perform mathematical and statistical calculations.
- Strong communication skills, both written (reports, email) and oral (leading meetings, technical discussions).
- Ability to handle sensitive and proprietary information confidentially.
- Willingness to travel 50%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with can/end materials and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of container filling, processing, and packaging practices.
- Experience applying the scientific method and managing experimental variables.
