About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and administration of AASHTOWare Bridge Management (BrM) for bridge inventory and inspection data
- Use BrM for bridge condition assessment, deterioration modeling, and life-cycle cost analysis
- Review and analyze WNBI/NBI ratings and inspection findings to prioritize capital projects
- Prepare scoping packages, engineering evaluations, and bridge prioritization lists
- Maintain and validate bridge inventory and GIS/location information in compliance with NBIS
- Generate BrM outputs, dashboards, and reports for structural evaluations and load rating reviews
- Review consultant submissions, inspection reports, and engineering recommendations
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineering staff on BrM functionality
Requirements
- Four years of full-time experience in civil engineering work
- Valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License
- Experience as a major contributor or project leader on complex projects (for Assignment Levels II and III)
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong civil/structural engineering background
- Familiarity with AASHTOWare Bridge Management (BrM)
- Knowledge of GIS and structural analysis tools like STAAD.Pro or LARSA
- Deep understanding of National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and NBI/wNBI data formats
- Ability to interpret structural plans and technical calculations
